Aloo gosht is a meat curry in Pakistani and North Indian cuisine. It consists of potatoes (aloo) cooked with meat (gosht), usually beef or mutton, in a stew-like shorba gravy. The dish can be served and eaten with plain rice or with bread such as roti, paratha or naan.
Aloo Gosht Salan is the dish served most often in our house. It was my Father’s favorite and everyone else in the house likes it very much also. It is a basic beef and potato stew, very filling and tasty.
Aloo Gosht is one of those dishes you can never go wrong by serving. One of those dishes everyone happens to love.
Aloo Gosht is a spicy meat gravy which has potatoes cooked with beef or mutton in a thin watery stew. Here is how to make it.
In a pressure cooker add beef , onion , tomato , ginger garlic paste , red chili powder , salt and turmeric powder , water and cook till tender
Remove Tomato skin and dries water.
Add oil , paprika powder , cumin powder ,coriander powder , green chili paste , yogurt and cook 4-5 minutes
Add potatoes and whole green chili and cook well 2-3 minutes
Add water and bring it to boil , cover till potatoes tender
Add fresh coriander and serve with rice , roti or nan…..Happy Cooking
