Chinese Steamed Wonton Recipe (Asian Seafood Recipe)

Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, even at a early age I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in northern Chinese, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.

30 Sheets of Wonton Wrapper
200g Mince Pork
30 Raw Prawns
1 Carrot
100g Mushrooms
100g Chives
10g Ginger
1 Carrot
1 Tsp Ground White Pepper
1 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Cooking Wine
1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
Salt to Taste

1. Finely dice the mushrooms and carrot
2. Finely chop the ginger and chives
3. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in the wok, add the mince pork and carrot, stir and fry for 5 minutes
4. Add salt, cooking wine and soy sauce, fry for a minute. Remove from wok
5. Add the mushrooms in the same wok, stir fry for a minute
6. Add the oyster sauce and stir fry for 10 seconds, remove from wok
7. Leave the pork and mushroom to cool for 5 minutes
8. Place the pork in a large mixing bowl, add the mushrooms, ginger, chives, white pepper and sesame oil. Mix well
9. Place 1 Tbsp of the mixture onto a sheet of wonton wrapper, and place one prawn tail upwards onto the mixture
10. Slightly wet the edges of the wrapper with cold water, fold and squeeze the edges of wrapper together-leave the tail of prawns outside of the wrapper
11. Repeat this with the rest
12. Place the wontons in a steamer, steam for about 8 minutes after water is boiled
13. Transfer into a dish, dip into vinegar if you wish and enjoy
