Mayonnaise Biscuits are really simple southern biscuits with a moist, tender, and fluffy texture. Only 4 ingredients!
The mayonnaise takes the place of butter in these amazing biscuits. So easy to whip up with ingredients you are likely already to have on hand. These biscuits only take a fraction of the time to make that traditional southern biscuits take. There’s no butter to cut in. Everything gets mixed together in one bowl.
Just stir together some self-rising flour, sugar, mayonnaise, and milk in a bowl. No kneading required either. Nor is a biscuit cutter needed. This is sounding easier and easier isn’t it?
Just scoop the batter into greased muffin cups and bake for 12 minutes. Easy enough for a weekday meal and these Mayonnasie Biscuits taste good with absolutely any meal.
Mayonnaise is basically just a mixture of oil and eggs so it functions really well in all kinds of baked goods.
I recommend White Lily Self-Rising flour for this recipe. It is THE FLOUR southern cooks use for making biscuits. Period. It is made from a low protein wheat and produces light and tender baked goods. If you can’t find it at your store, I recommend ordering some if you want to get serious about your biscuit making.
Mayonnaise is such a great southern ingredient. Try it in these other recipes:

- Duke’s Mayonnaise Mashed Potatoes

- 2 cups White Lily Self-Rising Flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup whole milk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a muffin tin.
In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar. Stir in mayonnaise until clumpy.
Stir in milk.
Fill muffin cups 2/3 full.
Bake for approximately 12 minutes.
